The solution? Hire a nanny.

So, when my kids run into Hadley Gerard, I spontaneously offer her the job.

But my return to business as usual is foiled by my growing attraction to the charming green-eyed nanny living under my roof.

The more time we spend together, the more my desire for her grows. Until finally, I give in and claim her.

She’s only in Seaside for the summer, the perfect temporary distraction for my weary heart. The last thing I expect is to fall in love.

When my world erupts once again in chaos, I’m not sure if Hadley and I can survive. Only time will tell if she’ll be my salvation or a summer fling.

REVIEW
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

I love series like Summers in Seaside as it is a great opportunity to discover new to me authors. And this was such a great start. The sun is out shining brightly and we are at the beach discovering lots of new characters and their stories.

Here we have Theo who has been through a pretty rotten time and is now a single dad to two amazing children. But like most parents he needs to work and he needs childcare. He has not had much luck with the last few nannies that he has hired so when he gets desperate he hires Hadley after two prior run-ins.

Hadley is trying to travel a bit over the summer before having to fulfil her duty in her family's firm. Her van happens to  break down in Seaside and she needs money to get it fixed. It is a win-win for them both.

It is clear that very quickly the boundaries between their relationship will become blurred as there is an obvious attraction between them both.  Whilst Hadley has not had any previous experience as a nanny, she quickly fits into the role and develops a strong connection with them both and encourages them both to have fun, whilst keeping them safe.

I loved how Hadley fit right into their lives and gave her an opportunity to see a life beyond what has been ordained for her. It provides her with a fresh perspective and an opportunity to be herself and not what others want her to be. Theo starts off this book very serious and a little un-fun but through spending time with Hadley, he does loosen up and realises that he may need to rethink his priorities and what he wants from his own life. They are good for each other.

This was a great read with an amazing location to swoon over and fall in love with, alongside characters that are very relatable.

Rebecca Gallo was first indoctrinated into the romance genre by her babysitter who watched hours upon hours of daytime soap operas. She harbored many inappropriate crushes on fictional characters such as John Black from “Days of Our Lives,” Orry Main from the mini-series “North & South,” and Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre. She is still in love with Davy Jones from The Monkees.

Rebecca currently lives in Southern Arizona with her family and a tuxedo cat with a limp. When she isn’t swooning over book boyfriends or dreaming up romances, she can be found educating the youth of America. Or eating tacos.
