Review of "Trancing the Tiger" By: Rachael Slate

"Trancing the Tiger" By: Rachael Slate
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

I found myself getting wrapped up in the mythology and mysticism of this book as the story engulfs you.  It didn't take long to get into the world of Kongsi, animal spirits and demons.  With the world's population at stake of being wiped out by the Red Death, Sheng and the other animal spirits are trying to come together to bring back the balance needed to defeat him once again.

Lucy is plunged into this world after the death of her parents not realising the power she holds in this fight.  Sheng and Lucy are instantly drawn to each other but Lucy's animal spirit, finds itself intimidated by Sheng's tiger.

Superb writing that sucked you into the story and its characters.  With not everything as it seems, it is a journey of discovery into this unknown world with Lucy.  It is set against a bustling metropolis, with the average person oblivious to the battle going on around them.
