King of the geeks Marty Johnston suddenly finds himself juggling two women. How did this happen? Even a principal IT Consultant like him can't figure that out, but he does know he wants to get serious with his co-worker , Elizabeth. So what about the one-night-stand-but-maybe-more Marty had on his last business trip before meeting Elizabeth? He's comfortable dealing with computers, not people. Can he keep the one he's falling for, or will he lose both with his bumbling ways?

Rating: ☆☆☆

A short, hot story that can be read in one go.
Marty travels a lot for work getting IT systems set up and working properly.  On a trip to Chicago he decides to act on a flirtation with the concierge, Shelby, at the hotel he is staying on, which results in a one night stand.  Back at work, he starts to find himself attracted to a new work colleague, Elizabeth and a relationship begins to develop.
I came away slightly confused by it and unsure as to what think about Marty.  He came across as shy to start with but then seized the moment with Shelby for a one night stand, which then played on his conscience as he developed a relationship with Elizabeth, a work colleague, despite the fact that there were no promises given on either side.  Elizabeth, on the other hand, comes across as quiet and prim but actually likes things outside the norm. For me we didn’t find out enough about Elizabeth to get a full picture about her and to fully understand her character.   I’m guessing from the title that Cassandra Carr wanted the reader to understand that you can’t judge people from outward appearances but it didn’t quite work for me.   It was a good little read and helped me pass a lunch time enjoyably.

Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards.
She thinks the best part of being a writer is penning stories about love and sex while most others struggle with commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers.
