Review of “Knotted Roots" “Hidden Falls” by: Ruthi Kight

“Knotted Roots,” by: Ruthi Kight
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

You know what feeling when you’re reading a book and it’s so light that you read each page and just smile? That feeling that it’s just so nice to be reading and the book captures the essence of that amazing feeling just to have a book in your hand? That’s what I felt when reading Knotted Roots. The story its self follows Roxie a young girl whose parents are going through a rough time so she gets shipped off to her grandmother’s farm. She hasn’t seen her grandma in a very long time, and feels no personal connection to her. Roxie is a typical high fashion New York teen, but her life changes drastically when she goes to this small town where her grandma lives. Along the way she makes some friends like Katy and Brain, and even spot a love interest Brian’s older brother Chase. There are lots of twists and turns in this book that make you feel deeply for all characters involved, and when you’re finished you’ll put the book down and smile…because I know I did. Being a teenager once, knowing what love feels like, and knowing true pain this book really was an amazing read. Simply put it was well written and kept you in a light mood that is just perfect for an everyday read. I whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who would be interested in reading it. Moms this is a book you could read with your young teenage daughter and talk about all night. This author is amazing and she will keep you entertained and smiling.

“Hidden Falls” a Knotted Roots Novella, by: Ruthi Kight
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

I read this novella right after I finished Knotted Roots. It was just as good. This story follows Katy and Brian as they explore the possibility of liking each other. The kids in this town have grown up together, and when Roxie got there everything changed…for the better. This is a very quick read, but if you read Knotted Roots first you will completely appreciate it. I enjoyed reading into what I hope is to come in the second book, and was even wishing it wasn’t finished when I was. I cannot wait for book two in this series!
