Review of "Distraction and Desire" By: Kizzie Darker

"Distraction and Desire" By: Kizzie Darker
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

This story is about a young woman named Joanna, who has recently gone through a heart-wrenching break up with her boyfriend, Luke. To drown her sorrows, Joanna goes clubbing her with twin brother, Jake, and finds temporary comfort in a bottle. However, when Joanna meets Nathan Jones, her whole life changes dramatically.  Nathan is young, sexy and owns several nightclubs and restaurants. He is financially successful and sexy to boot. Nathan has an ailing wife in a coma, and was hanging on to what was left of her, until he met Joanna. They hit it off immediately – Joanna feels the sparks flying, but knows that Nathan is not telling her everything. Then one night, he discloses the fact that he is still legally married, but is falling in love with Joanna. And – by the way – he is not just a thriving business owner; he’s also a member of the CIA.  All of this new information has Joanna questioning her involvement with a married man, a member of the CIA, and anything else he could be hiding. One night, her fears become very real when she comes face to face with members of the mafia – the very people Nathan is charged to watch over. Is this danger worth the risk of falling in love? Is Nathan playing her, just as a “cover”? There are many twists and turns in this book (and a wallop of a cliff-hanger), that will keep the reader intrigued, and wanting to know more. Sexy love scenes, a love story and a thriller all wrapped up in one book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
