Review of "Blind (Nicki Sosebee #8)" By: Jade C. Jamison

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

This is a series that keeps going from strength to strength as the story and characters develop. If you've not read the rest of the series then you need to! I absolutely love Nicki Sosebee and she has developed and grown so much since the first book. There was a naivety to her about what was going on around her, which has changed greatly to the point where she wants to make a difference. She wants everybody else to see the problems too and not be blind to them. Nicki is still trying to raise awareness of the town's drug problem through her job as a freelance reporter. She starts off being reluctant too pursue the story after the murder of one of her source's in 'Innocent Bystander'. With some convincing, she continues to try and open people's eyes to the situation but with a powerful and rich member of the community implicated, how much can one person do? She is still basking in her new relationship with her the man she has wanted forever: her best friend and the hottest man in town! Nicki seems more confident in her relationship with Sean and the thought of looking to the future doesn't scare her as much as it did with other men. It feels right. It's what she has always wanted. Sean has the look of a bad boy but inside he has the heart of a marshmallow. He is the ideal man in that he recognises Nicki's need to be independent and discover things by herself, but he is also fiercely protective. Whilst he doesn't always agree with her decisions, he trusts and respects her. Nicki is understanding of Sean's protective nature but feels that she needs to keep her independence in some areas. Compromise is a recurring word in their relationship vocabulary. I am eagerly awaiting the next story in the series and I can't wait to see where their relationship takes them. Big smile on my face when reading this book!
