BLURB

I hired him to protect my body, but who will protect my heart?

He’s a thief, a convicted felon.
A cocky guy with tattoos and a smirk for days.
He needs a bodyguard and I need a job, so here we are.
And the more time I spend with Ronan Michaels, the more I realize maybe he isn’t the bad guy after all.
But why do I feel like he’s hiding something or protecting someone?
Or both?

My Angel Gabriel has a devil on his shoulder.
He’s not a sinner—but certainly no saint.
He’s been lied to and abandoned. Hurt by people who should love him no matter what.
Gabriel’s discovered my secrets, yet the more I push him away, the closer he stands by my side.
And when his past crumbles, leaving him searching for answers, I’m right there for him, holding his hand.
Holding him up.

Because love is catching someone when they fall.
And never letting go.

From Lambda Literary Award-winning author Felice Stevens comes an irresistible bodyguard romance about two men busy fighting the demons of their past—and their attraction to each other.

REVIEW
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Ronan is not your typical lead character. We meet him just as he is being released from prison early for good behaviour after being convicted for fraud. His crimes involved taking money from health care accounts for vulnerable people, including children. Yep you should want to not like him but as you get to know him something about this narrative doesn't seem right. He is likeable, relatable, forgiving and has strong morals in wanting to help people. There are a number of people who are not happy with his release and make his life really difficult and leaves him vulnerable and fearful.

Gabriel is a bodyguard with principles. When his last assignment got caught cheating on his wife, Gabriel quits only to be black balled. Gabriel steps in to help Ronan when things get physical and before he knows it he is Ronan's bodyguard. The sparks between the two of them are instanteous and very quickly the chemistry is off the charts. There is no judgement from Gabriel about Ronan's conviction and an instant recognition that not everything is as it seems.

It was obviously pretty quickly that these were both great guys. Their relationship was certainly hot and off the charts but equally a sweet and supportive one. They lift each other up and provide each other with the strength they need in difficult times. They are flawed and principled, which makes them so relatable and has the reader wanting them to have their HEA.
