Review of "Las Vegas - what happens in vegas doesn't always stay in vegas" By: AJ Harmon

"Las Vegas - what happens in vegas doesn't always stay in vegas" By: AJ Harmon
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Las Vegas is a feel good story about the unexpected turns that life can take, self-discovery and finding love at the right time and place.  This is not a story about insta-love.  This love story takes its time and matures.  It is a restorative read and one full of hope.

Jessie and her friends are taking a trip to Vegas to celebrate her impending nuptials when a chance encounter with Asher shakes her to the core and forces her to confront the life and decisions she has taken for herself.  Jessie has been born into money and everything seemingly handed to her on a plate: education, money, expensive clothes, car and a prospective husband.  Forced to confront some home truths, she looks deep to realise that this is not the life that she wants.  Asher is taking a hard look at what he wants from his life and is in Vegas for his best friend's bachelor party.  He wants the type of love they have.  They say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...except if you are these two.

Whilst this a love story that is at times frustrating as you watch the two of them fumble around each other, neither speaking what is in their hearts, it is, for me, Jessie's journey of self-discovery that captured my attention.  Forced to confront herself and some things outside her control, we watch her journey from unhappiness to pure joy as she finds her place in the world and her self confidence.

With some old favourites making a guest appearance, this is another first class read.
