Audrey has been in in-patient therapy for a month and in the beginning she was pissed at everyone who had a hand in putting her there. Dr. Xander wants to get to the root of the problem as to why she is like this.Audrey didn't have nightmares until the day they hit the mother lode. Audrey wants to make her relationship better between Beth and her father.Dr. Xander wants her to heal emotionally first before she jumped into something sexual. He warned Audrey that she might have set backs.When Shelly told Jeremiah that she was pregnant Jeremiah was so happy. Beckett Jeremiah Jordan was born 6 weeks early,he had a cleft lip, total hearing loss in one ear and partial in the other, he also had bad eye sight and a limp. Shelly harbored guilt that his problems were from her drinking and drug use while she was pregnant with him. When Beckett first met Audrey, she was at the center where she took her car after it wouldn't start.Jeremiah got Audrey's number from Nate and Elizabeth for party planning, he needed her to plan Beckett's fourth birthday. Audrey doesn't want to because she has a thing against military men. She finally decides to take the party because of Beckett.
Audrey is a survivor, she has changed a lot since the last book, she doesn't believe that she is good enough for Jeremiah and Beckett that her past is going to hurt them gets called Angel and sweets by Jeremiah. She can't believe that her sister has forgiven her for what she did. Jeremiah is a ex military man, loves his son the way he is, he will protect Beckett from anyone.Beckett is a very wise young man, he wants Audrey as his mother. Nate is Elizabeth boyfriend, wants Audrey to be happy. Elizabeth is Audrey's sister,loves her sister. Captain Decker is Audrey and Elizabeth's dad, wasn't really there for her after her mother passed away. Nicky is Nate's brother, Beckett's friend. Shelly is Jeremiah's ex wife, wants money to stay away, she is mean. The Jordan's are Beckett's grandparents, moved to be with their son and Beckett, Jeremiah's parents. The Morgan's are Nate and Nicky's parents.
I really loved this story, I loved learning about Audrey's past.I couldn't put this book down. This is the second book in the Torey Hope series. I loved that I could connect to the characters. This is my second book by A.D. Ellis and it most definitely will not be my last. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
