"Dray" By:

Ratings: ☆☆☆☆☆
Dray's
father always had a saying, that sometimes bad luck could trickle into your
life like an annoying leaky faucet and sometimes it would pour. He was beat by
his father sometimes with his fists or with a belt. Dray finally allowed
himself to love Cassie but as usual he manages to bust a whole in the dam. Cassie left Dray to persue her dream as a
photographer.Dray is on vacation with his friends Barrett, Clutch, Scotlyn, Nix
and Taylor. Dray rents a houseboat from Nix until the boat is sold. Cassie is back and Scotlyn thinks that he
should talk to her. He doesn't want to. Dray goes surfing with Cultch and Nix.
When he is done surfing he decides that it time to go run on his six pack. He is an amateur fighter so he doesn't want
to have a beer belly while he is
fighting next weekend. After he was done
running Nix showed him a tattoo that would work to cover up Cassie's name on
his back. He goes up to the house to get some lunch and Scotlyn is up at the
house with Cassie. Cassie told Dray that she was offered a job in New York and
she took it. What Cassie really wanted was Dray to tell her to stay. Dray
doesn't want to get in the way of
Cassie's dream. Dray left vacation to go home early and so he could go to work
because he need the cash. Dray works as a longshoreman, while at work he hurt
his hand trying to help Bill "Blackbeard" when he was about to fall
off the cat walk. He was sent home from work early because the manager didn't
want to have to write Dray up and to go get hand checkout. While at work his
dad called him and he didn't listen to the message until a couple hours later.
He went over to his dad's house and found him dead with a beer in hand. Dray
punched a cabinet and hurt his hand even more. After everything that happend
Dray called Nix, then he went to go see Nana. The last person he called was his
mother. Wow! I was hooked from the first page. I couldn't put the book down. I
will be reading more of Tess Oliver books.
