Synopsis: Sign: Scorpio

The sting of this Scorpio is unforgettably hot...
Ivy Danforth is out from under her Colonel father's overprotective control, and she's making it count. Big time. She's taken the summer off to travel through Australia with her bestie and experiencing all that life has to offer—when you’re not under constant military surveillance. She wants to end her summer with some sexy fun, and she has just the hottie in mind.
Seth Rodrigo is ex-Special Forces working undercover and keeping an eye on Ivy as a special favor to her father. All he has to do is not give the game away and reveal who he really is. And especially not give into the hunger that's burning through his careful control... Then they're forced into protective custody. Alone. Together. For four days. And this time, the Colonel's daughter isn't taking no for an answer...

Review
Rating: 3.5

A simmering sexual tension between Ivy and Seth that will quickly reach boiling point if they let it.

Ivy has been raised as an army brat by a now retired, over protective Colonel, so when a threat is made against him, he doesn't hesitate to ensure his daughter is protected.  Seth is the man sent to watch over her and protect her.  The attraction between them is immediate but neither acts on it: Seth through a sense of duty; and Ivy through shyness and inexperience.  They are forced together when Ivy witnesses something she shouldn't.  Keeping their hands off each other becomes more difficult as the tension between them increases.

The story begins towards the end of Seth's time watching over Ivy, something I wasn't expecting but it worked well.  We manage to get the background we need through the time they spend together in hiding.  Ivy is trying to assert her independence from her father but finds herself drawn to the same sort of character.  Seth knows though that his deception will put Ivy out of reach permanently when she finds out.

A thoughtful read but with just enough action to move the story along.  It was a good way to pass a few hours on a quiet afternoon.
