Omega Team Series by Desiree Holt

Omega Team
by Desiree Holt
Genre: Romantic Suspense, Erotic Romance

Grey Holden was on a mission to find the source of illegal arms. The death of his best friend on a compromised mission left him filled with anger and dedicated to bringing down whoever was responsible. Athena Madero had her own mission, to take down a major politician who had been preying on young girls for a long time. She hated him enough to quit her job as a cop and go on her own hunt for evidence. When she and Grey crossed paths, chemistry sparked and suddenly, unexpectedly, shockingly, there was a lot more between them than searching for evidence and pinning down a traitor. In a split second, they were riding the raw edge of danger. Together.

Rating: ☆☆☆

Athena and Grey are after the same man. A powerful man who can make his problems disappear for the right price and who sells guns to terrorists.  Grey was on the receiving end of these terrorist armings. His team was compromised by someone in Senator Bostic's pockets and he lost his best friend.  Athena , a cop, is fed up of watching the Senator get away with hurting people and is out to destroy him.  Grey and Athena's paths cross and they join forces to bring him down.

I am a fan of romantic suspense as the two blend well together to keep you on the edge of your seat.  I did feel that this was a little short and it left me a little puzzled by some of the events.  It was an interesting read though with instant chemistry between Athena and Grey.  A good basis for this series to further develop.

Krista (Kris) Gauthier and Mason Rowell are like oil and water from the moment they meet. He never expected the team from The Omega Team, the security agency made up of former military, to send a woman to lead the team he hired to fix his problem: find out who is helping smugglers cross his land from the border. Their antagonism is only heightened by the sexual attraction that keeps blazing out of control. Neither of them is happy about the fact they keep falling into bed together and Mason, who values his unattached existence, can’t wait for the team to be finished and Kris to be gone. But when the bad guys are identified and caught and Kris is wounded in the process, the thought of losing her nearly destroys him, and makes him take another look at their relationship.

Rating: 3.5*

The Omega Team is well and truly established and ranch owner Mason needs their services as smugglers are using his land to transport people and drugs over the border.  Kris leads the team assigned to his ranch.  Much to Mason's surprise, he knows Kris intimately from a night of passion they shared together.  Kris and Mason still feel the electricity between them but Kris is determined to ignore her feelings for him and concentrate on the job at hand.

There was a great build-up in the plot to get the reader to the end result and you could feel the tension between Kris and Mason.  I did feel that the ending was slightly rushed after a superb build-up.  This series is evolving well with each instalment.

Shannon McRae never thought her life as a video game designer would land her in danger. But suddenly her files are corrupted, her laptop keeps going missing, little things are happening like unexpected flat tires in the dark of night. Someone is after her, but why? It’s just a stupid video game, she keeps telling herself. But when your friend is Athena Madero, who just happens to be a partner in The Omega Team, a super security and protection agency, help is just around the corner. Except this time help came in the form of ex-Delta Force Owen Cormier. He’s a great bodyguard but not much good in a relationship. Or so he thinks, until sparks ignite between him and Shannon and walking away just might not be possible.

Rating: 3.5*

Computer game designer, Shannon, believes she is being followed and her work on her latest project and her life sabotaged.  With those around her believing that she is being paranoid, she turns to her friend Athena and the Omega Team for advice and help.  Neither Athena nor Grey believe that she is being paranoid and agree with her assessment that someone is out to get her.  They assign Owen as her bodyguard, who is as serious as they come about his work.  But Owen and Shannon have crossed paths already with a night of passion.

It was great to have Athena and Grey back playing a part in this instalment, bringing it back to it's roots.  The chemistry between Owen and Shannon is strong and the fact that they have been together previously lays the basis for their quick connection.  The build up in their story was again really good but again the conclusion seemed rushed.  It was a quick and exciting read.
