Review of "Captive" By: Jenny Lynn

"Captive" By: Jenny Lynn
Rating: 4.5*

When Jenny Lynn publishes a new book, I always sit up and pay attention as her writing keeps getting better.

'Captive' is not a light and fluffy read.  Instead it is dark and intense and reminds me a little of the caped crusader with billionaire Beckett and his secret identity as The Phantom, cleaning up the streets of crime and avenging his parents' murder.  Ella is crime reporter who takes risks to get the big stories, whilst trying to find her sister.  When their paths cross and The Phantom's identity is revealed to her, Beckett takes her captive whilst he finishes what he started.

Ella's fight and independent nature ensures that she doesn't give Beckett an easy time, fighting him every step of the way.  The sexual tension between them is something neither of them expects, especially as their sexual experiences are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

I loved the intensity, darkness and grittiness of this read.  Who doesn't love a hot and sexy super hero?
