Review of "Escape the Doubt" By: Andrea Michelle

A fantastic coming of age story about a friendship that developed into more.  I adore these stories where friendship turns into a relationship because it brings an extra level of sweetness and romance to it.

Riley has been best friends with Joshua, her next door neighbour forever and for a long time has felt something more for him but has never acted on it.  Fear and doubt got in the way, as well as a tragic accident that brought feelings of guilt.  Riley was always going to a need a gentle push along.

Joshua has been in love with Riley for years, with no one able to match her in his eyes.  She is all he thinks about.  When she breaks up with Dean, he finally sees an opportunity to be with her.  But with teenage issues, jealousies and hormones and with everything amplified because they're teenagers, the fear and the doubt could win out.

This was at times a frustrating read as Riley time and time again pushes Joshua away and lets the doubt win.  It is, though, equally beautiful as Joshua shows remarkable patience and lots of romance to win her over.  He is the one character with a completely level head.  Riley, because of how she feels, over reacts and pushes away when the doubt and fear creep in.  Together you can see they are meant to be; they make sense.  This is even more obvious when they are apart.

A beautiful read with jump off the page characters that draw you into their story.  I enjoyed the style of writing and the dual POVs that added a better understanding of the characters.
