Bray Drakestone is the Marquis of Lockington, heir to the dukedom of Drakestone. He learned from a young age not to show any emotion much less reveal pain. Bray didn't know Viscount Wayebury as well as his other friends because they hadn't attended the same school. Both Bray and Wayebury are members of The Heirs' Club. Wayebury asked a favor of Bray, he wants him to marry his sister Louisa, Bray doesn't want to but he agrees. Bray's father died last fall so he has been settling into the duties of being a Duke. Two years and Louisa hasn't married and he was hoping that she would be married, Louisa's uncle sent Bray a letter saying that it was time to live up to his promise and gaurdianship papers for the girls. Bray went to see Louisa and ask her to marry him and she turned him down. Why did Louisa turn Bray down? Will Louisa and Bray ever get married?
Bray Drakestone is almost thirty years old, his parents never loved each other and they lived in saperate houses after Bray was born. London's most notorious rogue. Duke and has to take care of the Prim girls. John Seaton is Bray's trusted friend, he is 60 and he is the oldest member of the exclusive establishment Heirs Club. Louisa Prim is the oldest of 4 sisters, she is fiery and fiercely devoted young lady. Gwen is 18 and is geeting ready for her first season. Sybile is one of the youngest sister. Bonnie is the youngest Prim sister. Lillian is 13 years old. Mrs. Colthrust is the girl's chaperone, doesn't like dogs or noise, wants to spend all the Duke's money. Harrison is Bray's friend and was attacked. Adam is Bray and Harrison's friend and he lost his wife and son.
This book is amazing and I couldn't put this book down I wanted to know what happend next. The characters were very well developed, I also loved the story line. I loved Amelia's style of writing. This is my first book by Amelia Grey and it most definitely will not be my last. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
