Review of "Landslide" by Robin Mahle

"Landslide" by Robin Mahle
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

What a ride!  This was full of twists, turns and red herrings that kept me on the edge of my seat.  With everyone looking out for their own interests, it is difficult to know who to trust.

Claire is like millions of women out there juggling work and family life, trying to get ahead on the corporate ladder while trying to keep their heads above water financially in her personal life.  When she discovers an accounting error at her firm, she sees it as a chance to advance in her job.  But when her friend is accused of embezzlement, she sets out to clear her name and stumbles upon a much bigger scheme at play with some major players involved that increases the danger levels for her.  As she continues to investigate her personal life starts to fall apart around her as she becomes a pawn in their game.

But as with all great plans, it only takes a moment of arrogance and one deviation from the plan for it to all to start falling down around them.  Will Claire get caught in the crossfire?

Claire's feistiness and determination to get to the truth and clear her friend's name means that she doesn't think twice about putting herself in harms way.  Her focus is only lost when her own family is at risk of harm but only for a small time as it gives the motivation to go on and finish what she started.

A high paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Robin Mahle's style of writing was engaging and kept me captivated through to its surprising conclusion.  A highly rated read that will keep fans of suspense/thrillers completely engrossed.
