A promise to live...
Claire moves to the city to carry on with her best friend's bucket list. When Theo walks into her coffee shop and her life, he is a distraction that she doesn't need but he gets under her skin.
Theo is one of those characters that takes a while to warm up to as the way he treats Claire at times is not great. Flitting in and out of her life without much courtesy towards Claire.
Claire is on her journey of discovering her freedom and trying new things, living life to the fullest. It is tinged with sadness and can be considered an emotional read.
This has been compared to books like 'The Fault in Our Stars' but having stayed away from these types of read previously, I can't say if this is true or not. On its own merits this was a sad and weepy read. It gives you pause to think about life and living life to the full, putting your own life and issues into perspective. A thought provoking read.
