Review for "On the Road" By: Jade C. Jamison

"On the Road" By: Jade C. Jamison
Rating: 4.5

The reality of being on the road is much harsher than the dream as Kyle Summers quickly finds out. The Vagabonds rise to stardom is tempered by the constant infighting, emotional entanglements, partying, jealousies, sex and drugs.

This is the gritty, dark side of fame as seen through Kyle's eyes as she continues to tell her story. Her voice isn't as light and free in this instalment as the daily grind and issues with the other band members take their toil. For Kyle, the music is the priority but the others don't seem to take it as seriously, causing massive tension and with a manager out to look after his own interests, it becomes a daily grind of pushing and pulling. Toss in the confusion of young love and you'll need to strap yourself in for an intense ride. All that glitters is not gold.

An amazing job by Jade C. Jamison in telling a unique story with a fresh take on the rock star story. I got completely sucked into The Vagabonds' story and was engrossed in Kyle's journey of self discover. It was a powerful read and I can't wait to read it's conclusion.
