As the sole offspring of the Democratic United States president and his political operative wife, Trevor Moga was raised in an environment driven by the election cycle. During childhood, he fantasized about living in a made-for-television family, and as an adult, he rejected all things politics and built a highly successful career as far from his parents as possible.
Newly elected congressman Ford Hollingsworth is Republican royalty. The grandson of a revered governor and son of a respected senator, he was bred to value faith, family, and the goal of seeing a Hollingsworth in the White House.
When Trevor and Ford meet, sparks fly and a strong friendship is formed. But can the billionaire son of a Democratic president build a family with the congressman son of a Republican senator? Forget politics, love makes strange bedfellows.

REVIEW
Rating: ☆☆☆☆
Opposites do attract and can make strange bedfellows but make the best long term relationships. Trevor and Ford are as opposite as opposite can be. Trevor is an outgoing, son of a Democratic President and openly gay. Ford is a quiet, shy, Republican Congressman who is firmly still in the closet about his sexuality. A chance one night stand encounter leads to the development of a relationship that shouldn't work but really does. Together they explore who they are and their own sexuality. Together they can face anything.
Another sweet contemporary romance with just the right amount of spiciness sprinkled in. Set against the world of politics, neither Trevor nor Ford were very different when it came down to it despite being at opposite ends of the political spectrum. I did feel some distance with the characters, which I have never felt before with Cardeno C.'s characters. This could be down to the long distance nature of their relationship. Despite this it was another good read.
“There’s
nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Arching his eyebrows, Ford
said, “I think nearly choking to death in the middle of a blow job
and then coughing, crying, and sniffling in front of the guy I’m
trying to impress qualifies as embarrassing.”
Trevor’s lips twitched.
“When you say it that way, I guess you’re right.” He laughed.
“It is pretty embarrassing. Funny too.”
“Hey.”
Ford lightly smacked Trevor’s knee. “I thought you were trying to
console me.”
“I’m
laughing with you and consoling you at the same time. Besides, this
wasn’t your fault.”
Ford darted his gaze from left
to right and then looked up at Trevor again. “I’m the only one
down here. Whose fault is it?”
“Mine,
of course.” One side of Trevor’s lips curled up and his eyes
twinkled mischievously.
“How
do you figure this was your fault?” he asked, knowing he was
stepping into a setup of some sort.
“Well,
I’m the one with the monster cock.”
Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.
Cardeno's Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, "You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day."
