The wild child and the high school jock. Opposites attract but the road to happiness to not smooth nor easy.
When Clark and Noah first meet, Noah's young life is spiralling out of control. He knows that he is gay but his family refuses to accept him and their attitude drives him to behave badly. Clark is the only person able to reach him and understand him and accept him for who he is. Separation for school and college does nothing to dampen their feelings for each other and actually makes their relationship stronger.
This story is told from the present and is scattered with insights into their past and how they came together. In the present Noah has been involved in a car accident that has left him with no memory of the last three years. It took him back to happier times with Clark.
I really enjoyed the way in which this story unfolded with the past revealing their present and future. Both Noah and Clark, although complete opposites, complete each other and bring out the best in each other. There were lots of sappy, romantic moments and lots of moments filled with angst and bitterness. I really enjoyed their story and can't wait to discover the stories of the other couples in this series.

Aaron has spent most of his life helping other people in their lives to the detriment of his own happiness and has left him feeling somewhat lonely. Zach is a regular party goer who has been trying to prove to the world that he doesn't need anybody other than himself. It is Zach's mother's funeral that brings them together and shakes their lives up.
Zach is scared to give up his party ways and commit to any sort of relationship but Aaron has the patience to wait until he is ready because he knows that Aaron is the one.
The story is told from Zach's point of view and his voice is very distinct, making me laugh constantly throughout. It so works with Zach's voice telling the story of how a commitment-phob fell in love with the kindest, loyalist and most committed man ever. When Zach and Aaron come together they make sense and they complete each other. Another beautifully romantic story that tugs at your heartstrings.

I absolutely love those stories where lifelong friendship turns into a committed relationship; where both parties finally act on their feelings for each other and realise that the other feels the same way as they do. It somehow feels more romantic. Jake and Nate's story epitomises this romance.
A trip away from their day to day life brings down their defences and finally they act on their feelings. Whilst Nate has always been openly gay, Jake has had his fair share of relationships with women knowing that any man other than Nate would never be enough. These two make complete sense as a couple as they understand each other and are completely aware of each other and how they are feeling. It has just taken them a long time to get to this place.
Nate, though, is scared of pushing Jake into a relationship for fear of pushing him away. But Jake wants a relationship and is so crazy in love with Nate it is unbelievable.
Whilst I enjoyed their story, it did at times feel rushed as the story was told from both POVs. This switch where the same part of the story was told from the other's POV didn't always flow nicely. The dips into the past sometimes felt clunky as well. That being said, Jake and Nate together are a perfect couple where romance and love comes naturally to them both.
Ben has spent his entire life pretending to be who everyone expects him to be, denying his own happiness for theirs. When Micah enters his life the strong attraction forces him to rethink who he is and what will make him happy.
With the determination of trying to please his parents and Micah, he ends up pleasing no-one, especially himself. Until he accepts who he is he won't be happy and he will keep pushing Micah away.
Micah is confident and knows what he wants from life, with a strong support network around him. But Ben has seen first hand the rejection of his brother by their parents when he told them he is gay. Will Ben be true to himself and Micah or will the prejudices of others drive a permanent wedge between them?
I love the stories that Cardeno C. tells: the pure romance, the strong but different characters, the beautiful writing and the amazing story.
Friends with benefits. There was a slow build up with Andrew and Caleb's story as it takes place over a number of years. From the hints we pick up about Andrew's story from the series, I expected it to be far more emotional than it actually was.
Andrew is a highly intelligent man, going to University at a young age. The one constant in his life is his friend Caleb. Caleb is more than just a friend; he is his first everything but timing never seems quite right for them both. Andrew has never had much luck with relationships and always ends up with him being cheated on. Andrew reacts each time by modifying his body with piercings or tattoos. He is not your conventional doctor by any stretch of the imagination.
Caleb, although outgoing, has his own body image problems with thinking he is too fat. Caleb's response is to constantly diet and be as thin as he can.

Both see what the other is doing but only when they recognise their true feelings for the other can they both begin to heal.
This was quite different from the others in the series and it would be very easy to judge rather than empathise with Andrew and Caleb but Cardeno C. has got the balance right. It was not the story I was expecting but I still enjoyed it.
Seth has just started as Rabbi in his new community when Eli walks back into his life. Eli has had a crush on Seth for years and he makes it very clear that he wants Seth and takes every opportunity to remind him of this. Seth is confused by his own feelings for Eli as he has previously only been attracted to women. He refuses to act on any feelings he has for Eli because of his position in the community and his belief about what is expected of him and because of his confusion. Eli wheedles his way into Seth's life and his heart. Will Seth realise that Eli is his one, before Eli gives up hope?
I absolutely loved this book!! Eli is a larger than life character who knows what he wants and goes after it full throttle. There is nothing subtle about Eli and it is great seeing Seth's reaction to him. The cool, calm professional becomes flustered around Eli. This was dotted with humour throughout as Seth officiates at a number of themed weddings where pretty much all of them end in disaster. It is the perfect blend of humour and seriousness as Seth tries to work out who he is. With supportive family and friends it is likely that he will see that what he wants is right under his nose, supporting him. The best of the series in my opinion!

Jonathan believes in love at first sight and nothing else will do for him. When his clumsiness leads him to his first sight of David he knows he has found what he has been looking for. It was such a fleeting view that he moves to New York to search for him. It is only when he loses hope and heads back home that David re-enters his life.
Jonathan has a naivety about him that makes him easy to be taken advantage of. This naivety led him to becoming a father and becoming a porn star. Who would want to be with him after that?
David is warm, passionate and giving but a workaholic who hasn't found anyone who he would be willing to slow down for...until Jonathan. He fell in love at first sight with Jonathan too. He treats Jonathan as though is the most important person in the world and can see the vulnerability in him.
I loved these characters along with their absolute acceptance of each other and their pasts. The craziness of family life coupled with the romance of their story created lots of laugh out loud moments as well as sweet and tender moments. *Sigh*
