FBI Agent Kaplan's actions in Snake Eyes have put Caitlyn directly in sights and lives of human traffickers. Caitlyn is sold to one of these men who hope to use her gift to his advantage. The time in his possession is harrowing and a less strong woman would not have survived the ordeal. Her gift of being able to read people's true emotions helps in her quest for survival and escape.

Crossing these men is dangerous and life changing. Caitlyn's time captured is harrowing and disturbing and not for those of a nervous disposition. It is scary that in the modern, civilised world that buying and selling human beings is happening. I applaud Melissa Pearl for tackling this subject head on and in an unique way.

This was action packed from the first word to its chilling conclusion. There were a number of times that I had to stop and brace myself for the brutal attacks that the characters had to endure. A hard hitting read with the balance between the action and exploring the character's feelings spot on.
