About
chasing
Reese:
Everything
in life is not permanent but it was perfect. Catalina Pardo had a
career in journalism most people could only dream of, a hot, sexy
fiancé to call her own and a brilliant future ahead of her. When
tragedy struck, the life she once knew fell apart. Four years later,
traumatized by the events that ultimately changed her existence,
Catalina sets herself on a punishing work schedule, preventing
herself from facing the demons of her grief-stricken past.
Emotionally shut down, she’s alive but not living because everyone
she ever loved leaves her.
Fate intervenes in Catalina’s life in the form of a last minute assignment to a snowy mountain lodge in Whistler, B.C. Sent there to cover the life of the infamous Jackson Reese; an Olympic Snowboarding Champion, she is faced with many challenges bringing to surface the raw emotions of her past. Compelled to work alongside Stryder Martynus, an award winning photographer brought in to document the Reese press tour, tensions and denial run high forcing Catalina to accept the past and face the present with zero regrets.

One:
“You
don’t get to disrespect me like this. You don’t get to behave
like a pompous child. I believed you were better than that,” I
pause to catch my breath and gather my thoughts. Placing my hands on
my hips I continue. “I’m not fucking anyone here for a story. Oh,
if Blake were here now… But if the thought that Jackson Reese is
parading inside my panties makes your dull lives exciting, well eat
it up you sick fucks.” I pointed out, as fat, silent tears stream
down my cheeks.
Everyone
looks onto me stunned. When I dropped Blake’s name, everyone was
taken aback in memory of him. Watching me cry unsettles them, their
discomfort etched across their faces. I’m not known to be emotional
yet here I am, upset, crying over the stupid words of a jealous
colleague.
I
feel Stryder’s arms pull me closer to him, but I won’t have it.
Shoving him aside, I try to run away, but my damn heels won’t let
me. I kick them off and run down the long corridor, desperately
holding the sobs that threaten my chest. Having my colleagues think
I’m less than professional is very upsetting to me. I have forged
this career with blood, sweat and tears. I never cut corners or slept
my way to the top. The more I think about it, the harder I cry.

Two:
Lifting
her high heels, I explain the reason for my visit. “I stopped by to
return your torture devices you so recklessly abandoned.” Admiring
the stilettos one last time, I place them in her hands.
“Thank
you,” Catalina replies appreciatively. Playing along, she puts them
on, one foot at a time with such grace I swear it’s unfair. With a
raised eyebrow and a wicked gleam she says playfully, “you’re
right, they’re torture.”
The
way those words slipped from her tongue and rolled against her lips
took all of my willpower away. My eyes connect with hers and like
always, the energy between us becomes palpable, seemingly electric.
Catalina regards me with lust filled eyes, the roundness of her
cheeks flushed. She’s
turned on alright.
“Oh
but what a sweet torture,” I admitted seductively, hoping she
caught the double entendre behind my words.
Without
thinking, I move towards Catalina with the force of a freight train.
My hands grab her luscious waist and pull her flush against me. The
sound she made when I took hold of her body made me harder than I was
two minutes ago. Catalina quivers in my arms, an obvious confirmation
that my actions are welcomed. Catalina’s head nestles sweetly
against my chest. I’m sure she can hear those riotous heartbeats as
much as I can feel hers pulsing against my abs.
Allowing
one of my hands to roam the expanse of her back, I tuck my fingers
underneath the hem of her t-shirt, tracing the small of her back, and
another whimper escapes her lips. Raising that palm I tilt her chin
upwards, beckoning Catalina to look at me. My voice, hoarse and
fueled by desire commands her attention.
“I’m
going to do something I have wanted to do since the moment I first
laid eyes on you.”

About
Imy Santiago:
I
love to read stories about loss, heartache and redemption so it
didn't shock me when I ended up writing stories of my own revolving
around those themes. I write with my heart, using my life experiences
and emotions to dictate the tone and path in which my fictional
characters embark. I believe in the power of friendship and to always
have hope because life is always full of pleasant surprises. If you
were to ask me if I consider myself an author, I would tell you no, I
am not. I'm just a girl who loves to write a good story that makes
you consider life choices and the darkness that envelopes a broken
heart. My stories are about loss, friendship, hope and love.
I hope to continue
writing more books in the not so distant future. It could be said
that writing keeps me sane and brings a smile to my face. When I’m
not writing Adult Contemporary Romance novels, I’m enjoying a quiet
life with my family on Long Island New York.
