Synopsis

When FBI Special Agent Kate Ross is injured in a drive-by shooting, Hamilton Investigation and Security, Inc. (H.I.S.) leader Jesse Hamilton, believing she is the target of a killer seeking revenge against him, pulls the full force of H.I.S. into action to protect her.

Kate doesn’t believe Jesse, the only man to make her seethe one minute and lust after him the next, when he approaches her with a note from the Facilitator stating someone he loved would die shortly, and he knows in his gut it’s Kate. After a second attempt on her life, she can no longer fight his protection or her attraction to him.

After making a mistake that cost his wife her life, Jesse vowed to never love again, but Kate stirs something in him that puts his protective instincts into overdrive. Keeping her alive and out of his heart is more difficult than he expected. Then he makes a decision that could cost Kate her life. Is history due to repeat itself?

Kate and AJ finally got to eat lunch even though it was late or it might be considered and early supper. Jesse told them that they have the wrong guy, because of his relationship with the FBI deputy director, Jesse had been granted access to the investigation from the beginning, for the beginning, for the last month, he questioned everything AJ and Kate did and they collected. Kate goes to the waterfront bar to meet up with her friends Josh, Mary and Rylee. Kate looks around the bar and spots Jesse Hamilton. Kate left the bar and she was confronted by a man with a knife, she had everything under control and Jesse came out and helped her out. She never been more confounded about a man than she was about Jesse. One minute she's going for it,the next she was holding back because she didn't want to get hurt.

Kate Ross is an FBI special agent, her parents left her money. She was adopted when her parents were murdered. AJ Hamilton is Kate's partner, FBI special agent. He is fun, loving, flirtatious, he is the baby of the family. Jesse Hamilton is AJ's older brother, former FBI agent, army ranger, Co-owned HIS ( Hamilton Investigation and Security Inc. He is very serious, aggravating personality, has a five year old daught Reagen. He is drawn to Kate like no other woman. Devon is Ex-CIA agent, computer forensic expert, AJ and Jesse's brother. Matt is an ex-Seal, leads the protection and security division, AJ, Jesse and Devon brother. Josh is Kate's friend and an attorney. Ariana is Kate's sister. Brad is Matt's twin, left the secret service does a little of everything.Emily is AJ's and Jesse's sister.

While reading this story I couldn't put this book down. I loved how the characters were well developed. This is my first book by Sheila Kell and it most definitly will not be my last. I loved the story line. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This is the first book in the series HIS.
