Garry owns a mansion in Bel Air, California. His father ran away from the family when he was ten. Johnathan asked Garry for his forgiveness but Garry wouldn't have it, he betrayed him many times. His voice played in Garry's head like a broken record. Johnathan took his own life, Garry buried his father in linen shrouds and the bloodstained garments found on his body, for blood of the individual is considered by Jewish law to be part of the body and must be buried with him. As suicide, he was not to be honored or receive public recognition. He took off from his mansion he was running away and trying to clear his head. He got into a car accident, four months later, the entire right side of his body was useless. He is adamant that he doesn't need a nurse, all the nurses and therapists that Melissa and Dan brought in were either fired by Garry or they left on their own. Amanda was given the job to help Garry heal . She would get paid 50,000 dollars and she would be paid another 50,000 dollars if she could get him back up on his feet in four weeks. Amanda has advanced education in holistic nursing. Does Amanda get Garry to walk again?
Garry is Jewish, from Brooklyn, he is a pianist, composer and producer of his own music and he surprisingly became a singer. After his accident he became moody, and mean and very stubborn. Amanda wants to adopt Robbie, she is a registered nurse and she is 32 years old. She is also a widow and she was a suspect in her husbands murder. Melissa is Garry's sister, she is tired of Daphne. She likes Amanda and she is 29 years old. Dan is Melissa's husband and Garry's CEO and manager. Nicolas is Garry's butler and friend. Daphne is Garry's girlfriend of more then a year, she is also a marketing genius. Robbie is 8 and in a wheelchair and wants Amanda to adopt him. He is a very nice little boy. Miriam is Garry's mother, she wants Garry to stick with the Jewish ways. She tells Robbie to call her Bube.
I love this book, I couldn't put it down. I loved how well developed the characters are very well developed. I didn't want this book to end, this is the first book in the series The Mandy Story. I loved this authors style of writing.This is my first book by Judith Kohnen and it most definitely will not be my last. Judith you are an amazing author and I highly recommend this book.
