Matthew “Val” Taylor, the Road Captain in the club, was introduced to sex at an early age. Saved from the streets by the club’s Enforcer and President years ago, Val now lives for women and the open road. Until the night the only woman he’s ever loved is almost killed. Val determines to change his ways and be the man Zoann Donovan should have and the father their son deserves.
Zoann has loved Val for a long time. Violence and bitter betrayal forces her to ignore her feelings and distance herself not only from the sexy RC, but her beloved brother, too. Until she discovers the truth. Can Zoann ever be forgiven for all the pain she’s caused? Will Val overcome his own demons and have a future with her and their son? Who will survive in an MC filled with lust and revenge, love and hate?
Warning: This is a tale of rape, murders, deception, heartache, lies, and infidelity. The road to redemption is a tumultuous struggle where only the strong survive and justice is served…Outlaw-style.
Review:
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
This is the third book in the Death Dwellers MC series.
As hinted at in the earlier books, there is a lot of history between the two lovers in Misbehavior - Val, a captain in the motorcycle club, and Zooann, whose brother is a club member. This story fills in the gaps on how Val came into the club, how his friendship with Christopher evolved and the backstory for both he and Zoann. It takes you from the beginning to the present and gives you an appreciation for the character’s previous behavior. Understanding what went on before sets the framework and provides the setting for resolving their future.
I have to admit to being a bit lost when I started to read this book so I went back and read the first two books in the series. When I did I couldn’t wait to get back to this one!
This story deals with many serious topics including drug use, infidelity and rape. At the same time, however, it was a love story – Val and Zoann had struggled and gone through a lot to fight for their “ever after”. It is not a happy go lucky love story but was, at the end, still satisfying. Perhaps this book emphasized for me that there is no “perfect” ending. Life happens – it is not all hearts and flowers – but as long as there is love the struggles will be worth it.
If this is an example of “dark and gritty mc” than I am in!
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories by this author.
In Kat's head, she's the ultimate biker babe. In reality, she is an ordinary, everyday person who loves scotch, reading, writing, and football.
