Kason and Adaline.
From the moment
they met, they started to fall. Neither of them predicted just how far the drop
would be, though.
Loving Adaline was
all Kason had ever wanted to do. But layer by layer, he started to unravel,
forcing Adaline to face an addiction she never could’ve imagined.
This is what
happens when one person loves beyond the craving and the other craves beyond
the loving.
Review
Rating: ☆☆☆☆
Outsiders at school Kason and Adaline find themselves gravitating to each other. Kason comes from the wrong side of town whilst Adaline is the girl in town. Kason keeps himself to himself but Adaline doesn't really let him and gets under his skin in more ways than one. The main reason for his aloofness is due to his sexual cravings and him not wanting Adaline to be one of those women who he uses to satisfy those cravings.
In some ways this is a difficult one to review. E.K. Blair made an interesting choice in setting this book in the young adult genre as some may say that Kason's cravings are really not that different than most young adults. However, it quickly becomes apparent that his cravings are more potent than most boys his age. I think that Adaline's inexperience and naivety helps with this though, as the extremes that Kason goes to come through.
You know that with this being part one you are going to end with a cliffhanger and this one is a doozy. Just as things seem to be on the up turn for these two, bam.
