Review of "Doubting Our Hearts" By: R.E. Cagle

"Doubting Our Hearts" By:  R.E. Cagle
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

A poignant read about the mess we can make of our lives if we ignore what our hearts are telling us.  When Lillian's wedding lies in ruins, she runs to New York.  There she reconnects with Brayden, someone she became firm friends with and someone she felt a special connection with.  This time, however, the shoe is on the other foot, with Brayden engaged to be married to model Addison.  Brayden has not been able to forget Lillian and his feelings for her are reignited when she re-enters his life.

If one hot, sexy Knight man is not enough, then have two with Brayden's identical twin brother Brendan.  Brendan has his own secret: he is love with his brother's fiancé, Addison.

Life is never straightforward and is sometimes messy, which is what we see clearly here.  Nobody is truly happy but all are scared to admit their true feelings because they don't want to make anyone unhappy.

What I liked most about this book is that all the characters are very likeable and understanding of the situation.  This means that it gives them all the chance to explore their feelings and what they want without the high drama of jealousy getting in the way.  That's not to say that there aren't misunderstandings or other life events getting in the way but then that's life.  With moments that bring you to tears, that make you laugh, that are full of sweetness and romance, R.E. Cagyle has produced another winning read.
