 Wealthy, attractive Lucas Reika treats life like a party, moving from bar to bar and man to man. Thumbing his nose at his restaurateur father's demand that he earn his keep, Lucas instead seduces a valued employee in the kitchen of their flagship restaurant, earning himself an ultimatum: lose access to his father's money or stay in the middle of nowhere with a man he has secretly lusted over from afar. Quiet, hard-working Jared McFarland loves his farm on the outskirts of Hope, Arizona, but he aches to have someone to come home to at the end of the day. Jared agrees to take in his longtime crush as a favor. But when Lucas invades his heart in addition to his space, Jared has to decide how much of himself he's willing to risk and figure out if he can offer Lucas enough to keep him after his father's punishment is over.

This was a really good read and I have one complaint its that it was over too quickly.  I wanted more of Lucas and Jared's story but what I got was very good, with a sweetness to it but some added spice as well. 

Lucas is a rich boy, who has had never had to work a day in his life.  Spoilt by his rich father, everything is handed to him on a silver plate and he gets away with pretty much anything.  Lucas' total disrespect for his father results in him being banished to Jared's ranch.  Jared is the complete opposite of Lucas.  He has had to work hard for everything that he has and work hard he does, with little time for a social life.  Lucas' arrival creates major upheaval in Jared's life, not least because he has had feelings for him for years.  Lucas' free ride comes to complete standstill as Jared refuses to take any crap.   

As they become closer and fight their attraction to each other, there is a lot of realisation on both sides that their lives without each other are somewhat pathetic.  I love their story and their coming together.  It is a romantic read and one that I really enjoyed.

 Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations.
