Lacey starts a new job as a hair dresser at the Nut Job. Which is minutes away from her flat in Essex. She took her dog Trixy for a walk and ran into Steph. She decided to walk to work because it was a nice day out and her job is only ten minutes from her flat. On the way to her job she sees a guy on the other side of the street, he looks delicious and she tries not to stare. The guy looks straight at her so she quickly crosses the street with her head down. Men who look good are trouble with a capital T. Lacey ran into the man she was staring at earlier, he asks her name and she tells him. She got a phone call from her ex Rob he wants to get back together with her, she gets really upset and calls Steph. Steph and Lacey get drunk and decided to go to the club Brown's. While there she see the guy that she ran into on the street. He tells her that he finally got to buy her a drink and tells her that he owns the club. He also asks for her number, she tells him that she doesn't date rich playboys. He said that he's lucky that that doesn't describe him then. Dan asks Lacey if he could kiss her and Steph caught them making out. Dan and Lacey have a lot to work through as a couple and there are things that she doesn't know until Dan and Lacey get caught in bed by his wife. Lacey leaves Dan's and doesn't have her phone so she goes to a office and asks to barrow their phone, she calls Steph to come and get her. Dan says he will wait for her as long as it takes.
Lacey has been hurt in the past by her ex boyfriend, Steph and Lacey have known each other since they were five years old. She is 30. Steph is Lacey's friend, she is loud ditzy and blonde, works for James 3 days a week. Elsie is Laceys neighbor, watches Trixy while she is at work. James is Steph's boyfriend and is like a brother to Lacey. Dan owns Brown's, he is 34 and he will do anything for Lacey. Debbie is Dan's wife, the mother to Cara and she wants to get back with Dan. Cara is Dan's 4 year old daughter, wants to be friends with Lacey. Sylvia is Lacey's boss, 52 and she is very friendly. Graham works with Lacey at the Nut Job, Lacey's friend. Sarah works with Lacey at the Nut Job, Lacey's friend. Louise works at the Nut Job with Lacey. Kayla works with Lacey at the Nut Job, she is very mean. Rob Lacey's ex and used to be a banker in London.
I had a range of emotions reading this book from sad to happy. I loved the story line. I loved how Lacey and Dan had there own problems that they had to deal with. The Characters were well developed. This is my first book by Hannah Petty and it definitely will not be my last I highly recommend this to to everyone.
