Blurb
Months after getting kicked out of college my senior
year, I made a split decision and moved in with my best friend and his
roommate, Nix.
I never thought I'd try the whole 'friends with
benefits' thing with Phoenix but he didn't seem to mind when I offered up the
idea.
We promised no feelings would get involved.
We lied to each other, to ourselves.
In his eyes, I wasn't just the deaf girl or the family
burden. I was beautiful and smart and a bit crazy with some anger issues which
he overlooked because to him, I was normal.
We were never supposed to be more, but you can't fight
that pull when the stars align.
We are fire and water.
Stars and the moon.
Phoenix and Luna.
Review
Rating: 4.5*
This book brought the feels.
Luna feels that she has been a burden to her family since becoming deaf as a child and that no-one would ever want to be with her. She has good reason for feeling this way as her family doesn't treat her well and men don't want to be with her long term. When she moves in with her best friend and his roommate, she struggles to accept that Phoenix wants to really get to know her but Phoenix doesn't give up.
Phoenix sees Luna for who she is and not just her deafness. They become friends with benefits as he tries to convince her of her worthiness and beauty. Their fate is written in the stars.
I loved the feel of this book and the characters stood out for their awesomeness. There were plenty of moments to laugh and smile about throughout. Everything connected to create an incredible and seamless read.
