Ava is taking a break from her fiancee but Mateo is not the type to give up easily. Lets just say that Ava is not taking a break because he is horrible: he is incredibly protective and sweet towards her. It was a series of events outside their control that led them to this point.
When I started reading this I had to double check I hadn't come in late to this series as it went straight in at the point when Mateo is reclaiming Ava. However over the course of this book everything is revealed with dips back into their past as they try and rekindle their relationship in the present.
Mateo is very vocal about what he wants and how he feels which was refreshing from an alpha male character. I would have liked a little more of their past to understand Ava's motivation more. A really good read though and I look forward to more from this family.
