This was a second chance romance that has a mountain to overcome.  Torri and Brannon are from different economic backgrounds which does not please Torri's father.  He does everything in his power to split them up and Torri, who is desperate for his love and respect, believes him over Brannon.  Their second meeting is one of volcanic proportions with a lot of bitterness, anger and misunderstanding over the events of the past.  

I did find their constant battling and arguing exhausting as both were too stubborn to listen to the other.  I just wanted to bang their heads together and shout at them to shut up!  This frustration made this book though as you want them to resolve their issues as they were perfect together.  It is not just Torri's father putting their newly refreshed relationship at risk but Brannon's clingy and slightly bitter (understatement of the century) ex.  These characters were certainly colourful and strong but they all held their own and, thankfully, none overwhelmed the story.
