Abigail didn't believe anything being said around town about Elijah, all she saw was a man that helped her keep her ranch running during the drought that made other people sell. Elijah hasn't said a word but please and thank you to Abigail. When Cassie showed up at her house saying how he has a lot of problems stemming from his childhood.

Abigail lost her father 6 months ago, took over the running of the ranch, doesn't care what everyone else thinks. She lives in Deep River and she hates storms. Elijah Hays everybody in Deep River is afraid of him. He is very protective of Abigail and he is very good with horses. Garrett is Abigail's neighbor, married to Cassie, has known her since she was little. Cassie is Abigail's neighbor, Garrett's wife, Abigail's friend.

This book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I loved how I felt very connected to the characters and how I was drawn in from the first page. I can't wait to read more books by Sherilee Gray.
