He’s exactly what she doesn’t need…
He’s exactly what she shouldn’t want…
He’s exactly what she should stay away from…
But she can't.After losing her mother, Melia knew her life would never be the same, she just didn’t expect it to be so drastically different. Her mother’s final wish was something that not only changed her life but also the way she lives it. And it put her right in front of a man that angers her as much as he excites her.

Patrick ‘Wrench’ Ryan is president of the Tormented Souls Motorcycle Club. He’s strong, tough, and his word is law, but his sister knows how to get the upper hand with him. So, when she showed up with Melia and told him she’s staying in the club house, it didn’t take much to get him to relent. He tried to play nice, but Melia gets under his skin.

Things change when the club’s biggest foe escalates their rivalry in an attempt to bring the Tormented Souls President to his knees. It’s up to Patrick to protect his sister and the things most important to her. Will he be able to keep everyone safe? Will Melia get caught in the crossfire? Or will it all be for nothing in the end?

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Once again such a unique story in an MC setting.  It carries on partly with Ryan and Ellis' story and introduces Melia to the MC life.  It is not one that she embraces but she needs the safety of the club house.  She finds the lifestyle brash, violent and the men controlling and womanisers.  Enter Patrick, President, who does not deny any of those traits.

Patrick and Melia bring out the worst in each other.  There are definitely fireworks each time they meet and you recognise that they are fighting their attraction for each other: Melia because of who Patrick is and Patrick because it brings out a side in him that scares him.  Their verbal sparring is certainly a joy to read and brings an intensity to the book.

Unfortunately the life in an MC is sometimes dangerous and violent and there are no exceptions here, as a rival MC is set to destroy them and those that are important to them.  Will this danger prove to Melia that this life is not for her or will she realise that love is more important?

This is full of drama and full of fireworks as Patrick and Melia banter with each other while they dance around their attraction for each other.  This is another fantastic read.

Excerpt #1

“What?” I growled, grabbing the back of the woman’s head when she started to pull away. Making my message clear; she wasn’t done just because I was on the phone, but to be sure, I said, “I didn’t say to fucking stop.”
“Seriously. At least stop fucking when you answer the phone.” Ryan’s disgusted voice floated over the line. I rolled my eyes even though she couldn’t see me.
“What, did you finally realize I was looking for you?” I rested my head against the back of the couch. The woman had no idea what the fuck she was doing with my cock. I would not be getting off unless she changed what she was doing. From the feel of it, it was possible she’d never sucked cock before. Trying to listen to Ryan but also get some pleasure out of the whore, I fisted my hand in her hair and attempted to show her a rhythm that felt better than what she was doing.
“Yes, I did. Sorry, Master. I didn’t realize I needed to report in immediately,” Ryan sarcastically replied. “I just got time to return your call. We’re pregnant and it’s twins. I hope they are both girls so they can drive their uncle even more crazy than he already is.”
It was easy to tell she was trying not to sound as happy and excited as she truly was. Always hiding behind her tough exterior. “Well, congrats on the brats. When am I going to meet this woman who is carrying the babes?”
“Never, if I have anything to say about it,” Ryan answered immediately.

Ten Fun Facts about Rachael Orman

1. I live in Arizona. I complain about the heat every summer, but don't think I could live anywhere else because I really hate the cold... and humidity.
2. I've been married for 9 years in October. I'll also be 29 in October. I got married on my 20th birthday smiley
3. I was a cancer survivor for 10 years in July.
4. I'm a former United States Marine.
5. I met my husband while in the hospital getting chemo. He was there for shattering his skull.
6. I have two little girls... I wish for a little boy, but no more babies for me.
7. I prefer Coke to Pepsi, but 7UP to Sprite. Dr. Pepper rules all... Unless McDonald's Coke is included.
8. I read as much as, if not more, than I write. I read almost any genre... except historical anything. But my husband is a huge history buff.
9. I hate feet. All of them. There is absolutely nothing sexy about feet to me, ever. Not even baby feet, but I have been known to tickle any foot I come near because my house is filled with incredibly ticklish feet.
10. I have a nine year old Chihuahua. She follows me around everywhere. She sleeps next to my computer or snuggled up to me at night in bed, but she is always called my husband's dog for some reason.

Excerpt #2

“FUCK!” I yelled, crawling over to my camera. I grabbed it and turned to glare at the idiot who had hit me. “Watch where the fuck you’re going!”
I stood, letting my eyes trail up from a pair of dress shoes to a pair of finely tailored pants, up to a suit jacket, only to end at a breath taking face with brilliant blue eyes. Even with a face and eyes like that I would’ve had more choice words to say to him, but there were very large, very scary looking men on either side of him. An impatient look crossed his face as he slipped his phone back into his pants pocket.
“Me? You’re the idiot kneeling in the middle of a busy sidewalk,” suit man said in a deep, gravelly voice.
“Whatever, asshole.” I rolled my eyes, throwing my camera in my bag, quickly zipping it up. “Don’t worry about if I’m okay or if you broke my very expensive camera. Self-centered dick.”

Her Ride (Her #1)

Goodreads
Being happy. It sounds so simple. Yet, it seems that it’s always just out of reach for Shannon Ryan.

After serving overseas for seven years as a female United States Marine, Ryan is finally getting out the military. But coming home to live with her biker brother and his motorcycle club is more difficult than she thought it would be. Much has changed in the years that she has been gone, including Ellis, her brother’s best friend and childhood crush.

Ellis 'Dirty' Crane is the second in command for Tormented Souls Motorcycle Club. The only thing he lives for is the club, that is until Ryan comes home, no longer the wild little girl that followed him around. The two things standing in his way of getting what he wants are Patrick, Ryan's brother and leader of the club, and Jeremiah, Ryan’s boyfriend.

Can Ellis break through Ryan’s walls? Burn them and Jeremiah down? Prove to her brother that he’s the right man for her? Or is Ryan hiding more than she’s letting on?

Review:

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

I was not expecting this story from this genre of book.  It is much more than your typical MC story or even your typical romance story.  It has a no nonsense and straight shooting approach in the way that it deals with these issues.  This is in no way diminished the impact of these issues but brings them out into sharp and stark focus.

Ryan joined the military to escape from the MC life but she couldn't escape from the harsh realities of life.  She tries desperately to hide her mistakes and choices from those she cares about but ultimately these things have a way of coming out into the open.  Ryan has a strength and courage beyond what is expected for any woman but with this comes great respect for her.  There was one thing that she did not count on in her 'plan' and that was to fall in love.

Ellis comes across as a big bad MC man, which he is, but underneath he has a softer side particularly when it comes to Ryan.  He is the piece that is missing from her life, determined to make her happy and put her needs first.  How will he react when Ryan's secrets start to be revealed?

Ryan's ride is a journey of self-discovery and it equally becomes one for Ellis too as they both discover and realise what is important in life.  It is an emotional read and Ryan's courage draws you into the story.  It is equally action packed but equally deals with issues that some might find distressing.  For me, although this had some typical MC stuff going on in the background, this raised the bar in the genre with it’s atypical story dealt with in the unique, uncompromising way of an MC.
