"For Nicky" By: A.D. Ellis Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
When Nate was 8 years old, he got into fights with everyone who made fun of his brother Nicky. He didn't care about his punishment as long as he protects Nicky. He does everything for Nicky. Nicky and Nate are Identical Twins, Nicky was deprived of oxygen due to his umbilical cord being twisted. Nate gets set off when Nicky gets called a retard. Nicky started attending a community trade school, Torey Hope Education Center where he would learn job skills and social skills. Nicky has been going on about his teacher Miss Elizabeth on how much he likes him. Elizabeth has always lived in her sisters shadow, her favorite student from the community center is Nicky. Nate decided to take a run after he was done with practice and while he was running he could feel someone behind him so he slowed down and let the person pass. Audrey kept bugging Elizabeth about having a party at the center and when she finally agreed to do a party.  Nate protects Nicky, he has sex to relieve stress, he believes in the saying guilty till proven innocent. He coaches and he works at the hobby shop. Nicky has a hard time with speech, he is very nice and loves his brother time, he loves to play video games. John is Nate and Nicky's dad, he is an English teacher at Torey Middle School. He spends his Summer painting house exterior, interiors and barns. Cindy is Nate and Nicky's mom she used to stay at home, she know works at the community center as a clerical assistant, she helps with record keeping and general office duties. Elizabeth is the Librarian at the community center, Nicky's friend, hasn't been on a date since her sister duped her. Has lived in Audrey's shadow her whole life. Audrey bad mouths Elizabeth to every guy, she is nine months younger then Elizabeth. She is a party planner, hates special needs people.
I really liked this story, I liked the story line. This story was a really fast read. I liked how all the characters interacted together. I loved that it gives you the prospective of a brother who loves his brother and will defend him every chance that he gets.Once I started reading this book it was very hard to put down. I loved the authors style of writing. This is my first book by A.D. Ellis and it definitely will not be my last.
