This was a cute and sweet read with an innocence about it. It is about love and friendship as we follow Chloe and her best friends. Chloe is a reporter with a special ability that she has kept hidden for so long. When she interviews Principal Chris about changes to his school, the connection is instant.
The premise for this story kept me reading. However, Stacey Komosinski's writing felt like it needed a bit of polish. The story meandered along at a slow pace to start with but it did pick up some pace about half way through and you do need to stick with it. The style was very matter of fact (he went here, she did this etc) which did make it difficult to get a true feel for the characters. I wanted to feel more than I actually did.
The strong friendship between Chloe and her friends made this read - their connection was strong and their friendship is aspirational. Chris and Chloe did fit together and there was certainly chemistry between them.
He placed his hands on either side of her waist and looked into her eyes. Chloe felt something shift between them, a deeper understanding growing like a flower in the garden. Her heartbeat quickened.
Chris took a breath. “I’d really like to kiss you. May I?”
“Yes,” she said, shivers suddenly running over her arms. Her heart swelled. This is it.
Meanwhile, Chris could feel his own heart start to pound against his chest. “You’re so beautiful,” he said quietly as he lowered his mouth to hers.
He brushed his lips against hers and felt them open slightly. Tilting his head, he started to kiss her more deeply. She pressed her body into his and rested her hands on his shoulders. His hands loosened on her waist and slowly moved up to rest on the small of her back.
He used his left hand to pull her snugly to him while his right hand rubbed down her side to the hem of her T-shirt. Pulling it up slightly, he ran his fingers across her thigh. Still holding her pressed up against him, he continued kissing her slowly and deeply. She moaned and ran her hands down his arms to his waist.
Chris relaxed his grip on her back and released her mouth from his. Her eyes danced open and he could see the passion in them. They were both breathing more quickly now.

Stacey Komosinski grew up in a small Pennsylvania town strongly influenced by her mother's passion for reading. She read her first romance novel in her early twenties and hasn't stopped.
