This book is about trying to find your way back after a terrible tragedy. Instead of working through their loss together, Alyssa and Derek find themselves drifting further and further apart. In the attempt to repair the damage to their relationship they turn to slightly unconventional therapy. Both are highly sexual and sensual individuals who set the bedroom alight so repairing this part of their relationship opens the rest to healing.
This did bring an emotional side as you come to understand how the tragedy has impacted on these strong, confident characters. It was an unusual way of dealing with grief and I was skeptical but it worked for them and I became a convert.
Lilly Atlas managed to successfully blend the emotional and the sensual to create a hot and steamy read that was respectful to the circumstances.
