Weeks became
months, and months became years. Each day nudged Kason deeper into his
addiction. Each memory of the girl destroyed fed the craving for what he could
never have again.
Leaving a life-altering first love behind, Adaline tried moving forward to find love and trust and happiness. Pain eventually faded, wounds slowly healed, yet scars were forever left behind.
But some scars feel like kisses.
When the shattered pieces of their hearts are forced to meet again, the two of them must decide how much pain their love is worth enduring.
This is what happens when one person loves beyond the craving and the other craves beyond the loving.
Review
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Wow! This book blew me away and is E.K. Blair's best yet.
I went into this with some level of trepidation because of where part 1 left off. It was never going to be an easy read but it needed to be difficult as Adaline tries to pick up the pieces of her life and come to terms with the guilt she feels. I loved that E.K. Blair took her time with Adaline's recovery as it needed to be this way. Her struggles felt so real and seeped out of the page as I was reading. Whilst my biggest peeve is characters who make decisions in the other's best interest without discussing it with them, I came to terms with it here because it fit in with their story and the fact that Adaline is not acting rationally.
The majority of this book focused on Adaline but this is heart breaking for both characters. I was put through the emotional wringer with this one but felt so connected to their journey. I have a feeling that Kason and Adaline will remain with me for a long time.
