Adam was very surprised to receive a call from his brother James. He went back to where he grew up to see his mother again. Adam stopped a boy from being chased by a group of other boys, the last person he expects to see is Lily chasing after the little boy. Adam couldn't get Lily out of his mind. Adam could tell that she needed help with Max, as she doesn't look like she hasn't been eating or sleeping. Lily is really good at portioning out food and making sure that Max has everything that he needs. When James decides that it's time to tell him something, that is going to change his life.
Lily has been by herself since day one with Max, Max's mother, She has done really well. Max is Lily's son, was born premature. He is small for his age and loves gingerbread men. Adam joined the military, James, Owen and Drew brother. James is the youngest brother of Owen and Adam. Isn't sure about going to university. Owen own's his own Bakery. Not welcoming when Adam Drew, Adam and James's brother. Drew is a Doctor and the oldest of Adam, Owen and James. Helps out Lily as much as he can.
This is the first book in the Copper Creek Series. I loved how drawn into the story I was. How well the characters were developed and how I felt connected to the characters. This is my first book by Wendy Smith, I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
