Emerson was the apple of her daddy's eye until that fateful day that changed it all. She blames herself for what happened to her father, she refuses to let anyone get close to her as she thought it was her punishment. Her mother wants Emerson to live life again. While Emerson was at a bar she met Carter and he told her about what he and his friends came up with, she agrees to help him if he helps her. Little did Carter know that he was going to start having feelings for her. 

Emerson is the outcast, the ugly duckling. She has walls no one can get through. She has a good paying job, her own place. she is a college graduate and she excelled at school. 24 years old. Carter is a lawyer, he is 28 years old. He is very sure of himself, he comes up with plans to get Emerson and him to spend time together. Dan is Carter's friend, thinks Emerson is cool. Lance is Dan and Carter's friend, thinks Emerson is cool. Erick is Lance, Dan and Carter's friend, thinks Emerson is cool. Beth is Carter's younger sister, she is very ballsy, works in a salon. In a relationship with Matt. Matt is a very rude person. Beth's boyfriend. 

This book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I loved that I was hooked from the first page and that I felt very connected to the characters throughout the whole story. I look forward to reading more books by DC Renee.

DC Renee has been writing all her life, from cheesy poems in elementary school (i'll share an example just so you know how cheesy: Flowers are my favorite thing; they usually bloom during spring. Pink, blue, yellow and green, so many colors that I have seen...etc.) to short stories and monologues, and eventually fan fictions for Days of Our Lives.

It was thanks to that superbly encouraging fan fiction community that DC found the courage to publish her first book - Let Me Go. It held fast in the top 100 Best Selling Contemporary Romance Fiction Novels on Amazon for over a month, going as low as the top 20's. Naturally, she loves to read, but she also likes watching hockey, dancing for fun, and loves her family.
