Violet agrees to not only allow her ex-husband's wedding to take place at her family's resort, she also agrees to organise it. Violet has a remarkable strength to do this and keep up her persona as an ice queen. Her persona is all about protecting herself from hurt - with her deceased father having destroyed so many lives in the pursuit of power.
Ryder, best man and best friend of her ex and a presumed playboy, has a past with Violet. When they are brought together for the wedding planning, their attraction is immediate but they fight against it - Violet runs in the other direction.
Her ex, Joel, seems hell-bent on preventing her from being happy and having a relationship with Ryder. Couple this with the secret Ryder is keeping and you get a roller coaster of a ride of a read. Well-written with plenty of tension, frustration and heat. Well-worth a read.
