Review of "Love in a Small Town" By: Zoe York

"Love in a Small Town" By: Zoe York
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

A second chance romance for divorced Rafe and Olivia.  Neither have moved on from each other and have been living in close proximity.  It is hard to understand why their relationship failed first time around until you get the glimpses into the past.  Rafe's job is challenging and takes him away a lot, which for a new wife in a new town and not knowing anybody was always going to end badly.  Older and wiser, it could work better this time but it takes work to make a relationship last.

Olivia is lost at the start of this story and has been lost for a long time.  She has been going through the motions, trying to find her place in the world.  While she has always been in love with Rafe, it was never going to work while she was still floundering in her own life.

Rafe is a committed man - working as both a cop and a soldier.  His dedication sometimes got in the way of his relationship but he was always dedicated to Olivia.  Communication was always his problem and Olivia's too.  Olivia's clingyness was not recognised as a cry for help but as jealousy of his work.  But a second chance can mean an opportunity to put past mistakes by both of them right.

This was a read that I really enjoyed.  Small towns and second chances make this my type of read.  You get fantastically rich main characters and an awesome set of supporting characters that you want more of.  I can't wait to read more of this series.
