Endearing! Never Standing Still was a sweet and enjoyable story. Kalli has never been able to count on anyone she loves to stay in her life. As such she thinks that she doesn’t love very easily. Kalli really does love very deeply and hard, she just refuses to admit it anyone and most especially herself. Kalli has built a world that keeps the outside away from her home life, including her friends.
Kalli meets Riot on the set of one of her jobs. Riot is pure sunshine for Kalli. Once Kalli has the ice cracked in her heart and lets Riot in, she really starts to live. At the same time she recognizes that she is broken and just wants to run to keep the pain from coming. I kept waiting for the flaws in Riot. He was the most understanding and sweetest guy. He really was there for Kalli in every way.
I felt caught off guard at the end of the book, tragedy struck and feeling Kalli’s pain and how that pain affected Riot. It brought on a whole slew of tears. Kalli and Riot’s introduction was beautifully written. I can’t wait for the next story.
