"The Naughty Nine" by Nina Bruhns, Rita Herron, Dana Marton, Patricia Mason, Mary Leo, Taylor Lee, Julie Leto, Lorhainne Eckhart, Karen Fenech, Jill Sanders
Rating:☆☆☆☆☆
The Naughty Nine is a collection of books from different authors, including Nina Bruhns and Rita Herron. You’ll find yourself wanting to read this collection nonstop, as the male leads from each individual book get hotter, sexier, and naughtier than the last. The female leads are also really strong in this collection, particularly Jessie from Red Rock Rises and Marisela from Dirty Little Secrets. These ladies don’t need a man to protect them because they could kick his butt!! This is a really strong collection of wonderfully talented writers that take you on journeys that may elicit laughter one moment, tears the next, but will always be entertaining.
Stop in the Name of Love, by Nina Bruhns, is the story of Police Sergeant Russell Bridger (Bridge) and Mary Alice. Bridge goes undercover to get dirt on a friend of Mary Alice’s for a case, but ends up going deeper than he might have liked on this one. This read will definitely make you want to be stopped and searched by Bridge.
Deathblow, by Dana Marton, is another cop story, and the fourth in Marton’s Broslin Creek series. Although it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Former football jock turned cop is protecting single mom Wendy. This was an emotional read for me on a number of levels and created a lot of empathy for Wendy’s character.
A Girl, A guy and A Ghost, by Patricia Mason, was highly entertaining. I’ve read books similar to this in nature, but they’ve always taken it the more serious route. I found Mason’s novel to be a breath of fresh air that had me laughing at every page. It’s the story of Giselle, a reporter given a short deadline to find a real ghost story to write about, ends up finding everything but, including hottie P.I. Ry.
Everything He Never Wanted, by Mary Leo, is the story of Antonio and Margot. Antonio is a man after my own heart, a guy who would fly thousands of miles for a book, yet what he finds at his destination is far more priceless, his true love. This read is smoldering, and contained one of my favorite lines in the entire collection, “Make love to me until there’s nothing left but ash.” Red Rock Rises, by Taylor Lee, is the story of Jesse and Dameon, and is the first in the Red Rock Series. Jessie is a special ops agent and Dameon is a police chief, and together these two can bring the heat to the bad guys and to the bedroom. I really enjoyed that Jessie can really hold her own and is such a strong powerful woman.
Dirty Little Secrets, by Julie Leto, is the story of Marisela and Frankie. Marisela is a bounty hunter who shares a past with Frankie. When she has to track him down, it’s only natural that feelings thought to be long gone will reemerge.
One Night to Kill, by Rita Heron, was another breath of fresh air that had me laughing through the pages. Max and Willow are about as different as you can get. Max is a bomb expert, and Willow is in the business of phone sex. Although they differ so much in their professions, they are very similar in their likes in the bedroom.
Saved, by Lorhainne Eckhart, was another emotional read that made me bring out the box of tissues on this one. Abby’s story is tragic, yet Eric saves her on so many levels. The emotion in this story really gripped me and held on through the entire read.
Snowbound, by Karen Fenech, is Mallory and Gage’s story. They are both in law enforcement, she in the FBI, and he a police captain, working together to bring down a human trafficker. This read is filled with suspense and a real page turner.
Secret Identity, by Jill Sanders, is the fifth in a series, but can be read as a standalone. Eve and Carter have been friends for a long time, but both of them have feelings for one another that they’ve never divulged. When the two of them go on a business trip, will the knowledge of how they truly feel for one another result in the end of their friendship? This read will really make you think about letting that good guy friend of yours out of the friend zone and into your heart and bedroom.
