Ok so I like second chance reads where the main character gets that second chance with a past love. What I didn't like was the fact that Genevieve was married and was never in the moment with her husband, rather imagining that she was with Ty her ex. When her husband is murdered at home while she was sleeping, she becomes prime suspect and turns to her ex for help.
I wanted more from this story line than I got. It stayed pretty steady until the final burst at the end. For me, a good suspense/thriller keeps you on your toes throughout with its unpredictability. I enjoyed the reconnection between the two main characters and Ii really liked Ty, who didn't really hesitate to help out his ex. I couldn't connect with Genevieve as she was self-absorbed and selfish.

Denise has been reading since before she could talk. And to this day, escaping into a book is her go-to activity before anything else.

Home is in the Pacific Northwest where she lives with six Siberian Huskies and a husband (BW) who has the patience and tolerance of a saint. And, lest she forget, Denise also lives with too many to count characters inside her head, who will eventually have their stories told.
