The Summers in Seaside series is a collection of contemporary reads based in Seaside. Each is individual and different from the one that came before. Each is a standalone, which means that you can dip in and out as you want.

So this was a suspenseful read. I really enjoy this type of read but this one left me scratching my head for quite a while to reconcile events with what we find out about the characters. It left me doubting my judgement until the twist at the end that presented me with my aha moment.

This was not what I was expecting from this book at all. The blurb hinted at a very different story but this unexpected difference ensured that it stood out in the crowd. I did devour it really quickly as I was desperate to figure what was going on and how the hero wasn't called out for his behaviour. Turns out that there was a really good reason...
