When Karsyn declares her love for Tucker, he completely panics and breaks things off with her. As soon as he has let her go, he realises that he has made a massive mistake. Not coming from a loving, stable background, declarations of feelings is unfamiliar to him and Tucker doesn't know what to do with them.
The K9 officer and trainer has quietly been biding his time from a distance and making sure Karsyn can't forget him with gestures that show she is still on his mind. When Karsyn volunteers to help set up fundraising activities to bring in another K9 unit, Tucker sees this as his opportunity to show Karsyn he made a mistake and wants her in his life. Karsyn has something from her own past that is holding her back and when this is revealed, she can only hope that Tucker will still want to stay around.
In addition to the rekindling relationship between Tucker and Karsyn, you also have town events involving the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team that will impact on the couple. I have to say that I wanted more from this element.
These two, alongside familiar faces, brought a sense of community to the forefront. There is also no denying the sexual tension and obvious chemistry between the two of them. They build each other up and support the other. I really enjoyed this book, just as I have all the others in this series.
