Jax wants to destroy what is left of Emma's family believing that her father is in some way responsible for his brother's death.  When he meets Emma at a charity event and spends some time with her, his plans change as he realises that he is drawn to her and that she doesn't have it in her to be involved.  Emma, however, is keeping family secrets that could be used to bring them all down.  To work out what happened they must learn to trust each other and work together.

This is the first instalment, so you are left with more questions than answers.  Emma has been misjudged by her family and is stronger and more courageous than they all give her credit for.  Jax is bordering on alpha male and is probably holding back from being full alpha male because he knows that is the way to send Emma running in the opposite direction as she has been controlled by the men in her life.  Emma and Jax shouldn't make sense.  They should be enemies but the off charts chemistry and willingness to trust in the other means that they do make sense and perfect sense at that.  

For fans of Walker Security, they are back and helping Jax unravel the mysteries and keeping them both safe.  I can't wait to see where Lisa Renee Jones will take us next in this series, especially with how this book was left.  September is too long to wait!

He holds me fast and pulls me to him, our legs colliding, the hard lines of his body hugging mine. My gaze jerks to his, the night darkening his blue eyes, the streetlight catching flecks of amber in his intense stare. “Run with me, not away from me.” “I don’t even know you.” “Then change that. I’m not asking you to marry me. I’m going to do this. “I want off this street corner,” I say. “I want to leave. I want to leave with you.” His eyes warm, approval and satisfaction in their depths that somehow isn’t arrogant. He laces his fingers with mine and walks backward, guiding me to the door of the SUV. And then he does something unexpected. He steps aside and motions me toward the back doors, a silent invitation to enter or walk away, to make my own decision. I climb inside, letting the soft leather absorb my body, a willing victim, as he’d wanted.
