Review
Rating: 4.5*
I pretty much read this book in one sitting and loved every word of it. Hudson and Charlie are such amazingly nice characters that you can't help fall in love with them and be in awe of them and their strength of courage and conviction.
Hudson and Charlie find themselves to be unlikely roommates - a rockstar and a baker. I loved Charlie and most women could probably relate to her. She is sincere, unsure of herself and so nice. This was told from Charlie's perspective so we got to see a lot of what was going on in her mind and this always made me smile. Hudson was not a man who relied on his status to get what he wants. He welcomes Charlie and her daughter into his home and his heart, making special effort to make them feel welcome and comfortable. He is naturally nurturing. It was instant love at first sight for me!!
I love this book and the smile it brought to my face is still there now.

Excerpt
The smart and
rational side of my brain seems to be on a break because all I’m capable of
doing is raking my eyes over Mr. Basketball Shorts. He’s tall with broad
shoulders and the most pronounced abs I’ve ever seen up close. The baseball cap
on his head is turned backward, and he’s currently wiping his face off with
what I assume to be his shirt. That is the only reason he hasn’t seen me yet,
and why I haven’t seen his face yet either. But I’m going out on a limb here
and say it’s probably as gorgeous as the rest of him.
My eyes drift
back to his drool-worthy chest, following the beads of sweat that are slowly
running down his torso to the V-shaped lower abs until they disappear into the
pair of shorts that sits low on his hips.
Sudden heat
shoots through my body, making my cheeks tingle from the force of it. My brain
uses that moment of distraction to finally kick back in again, reminding me of
the situation at hand.
A total stranger
is standing in my kitchen.
Half-naked.
And we’re all
alone in this house.
