Book Boyfriend by Dawn L. Chiletz

Title: Book Boyfriend
Author: Dawn L. Chiletz
Genre: Contemporary Romance Standalone
Release Date: November 2, 2018
I’ve completely had it with men. I’m done.
And in case you were wondering, book boyfriends aren’t real. I should know because I write them.
My name is Greer Hanson. I think I’ve lost my mojo. After having my heart broken, I can’t seem to write about romance or love. When my best friend and publisher recommends an inspiration vacation, I decide to give it a whirl. What’s the worst that could happen?
Enter the perfect stranger. Patrick Fisher knocks me off my feet with his rugged good looks and charm. After one night with him, the words begin to flow. Since I know I’ll never see him again, I use him as my muse. But what do I do when my fantasy comes to life and that man steps right out of the pages of my book?
Book Boyfriends can’t be real. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. Am I willing to risk having my heart broken all over again?
Maybe this time reality will be better than fiction.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Whilst we all swoon over our book boyfriends, it is important to remember that sometimes real life is better than fantasy.  When romance author Greer is knocked off her feet by Patrick and then spend an incredible night together, he becomes the inspiration for her next best seller.  When she leaves, she gives him a dud number and no way to reach her.

When Patrick discovers that Greer is an author and that the book she has written is inspired by their encounter, he sets out to woo her by following the romantic gestures made by the book boyfriend.  However, instead of being romantic they come off a little creepy and Greer realises that she doesn't need big gestures and that small thoughtful gestures are even better.

Greer, whilst successful, has issues with the way that she perceives herself thanks to an ex who took it upon himself to belittle her at every opportunity.  Patrick is hawt and Greer struggles to understand his interest in her but he is very good for her self-esteem.  Whilst things are not smooth between these two and there are definitely hiccups along the way, these two definitely belonged together - they lit up the pages with their chemistry.  I loved the down to earth nature of both these characters and ten out of ten to Patrick for his effort in trying to show Greer what she means to him.

This was actually a fun and quirky read that definitely made me smile.  A feel good read.

Dawn L. Chiletz resides in Illinois with her two amazing boys and three loving dogs. When she’s not binge writing or reading, you’ll most likely find her somewhere on social media making a sarcastic comment or watching animal reunion stories while she cries like a baby.
